Have you ever set a goal and had a bit of a freakout?
Maybe your brain responds with thoughts like “I can’t possibly lose that much weight” or “what’s the point, I never keep it off anyway”.
Other times thoughts that are even deeper can come up. I recently discovered a surprising belief system that was preventing me from taking inspired action towards my next big weight loss goal: a belief around women being objectified by men when they are slim and my rebellion against the patriarchy (WTH?! – don’t worry I’ve now released that one, as it really doesn’t help me in the long term!).
In this episode we’ll discuss:
- how setting goals can show us what’s really going on in our mind: the limiting beliefs and negative thinking
- my story of getting coaching through a belief system about not wanting to just ‘look pretty’ for male gratification
- how working towards our goals is an amazing opportunity for personal development to become a person with a new level of resistance, confidence and compassion for yourself
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have you ever found any beliefs coming up through goal setting? Post your thoughts in the comments below.
